Building, Learning, and Leading
Who I Am

Mechanical engineering student, researcher, and builder.
I’m an engineering student at Rice University who enjoys turning ideas into real hardware. Whether I’m designing defense systems during my internship at Oceaneering, developing autonomous research platforms, or leading structural design on Rice’s Solar Car team, I enjoy projects that combine technical problem-solving with collaboration. Building systems that solve real-world challenges is what motivates me most.
I’m particularly interested in mechanical design, structural analysis, autonomous systems, and aerospace and defense applications. I enjoy working on multidisciplinary teams where thoughtful engineering, collaboration, and continuous learning come together to turn ideas into reality.
Where I’m Headed
I’m someone who enjoys always having another challenge to work toward. Over the next few years, I plan to pursue Rice University’s accelerated 4+1 Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering while taking advantage of two more summers of internships to explore different areas of industry. I’m especially interested in aerospace, defense, robotics, and autonomous systems, and I’m excited to continue learning from talented engineers while discovering where I can make the greatest impact. Whatever path I take, I hope to keep building, keep learning, and keep leaving every project better than I found it.

What Drives Me
My curiosity for engineering started long before college. Growing up, one of my favorite memories was watching Wile E. Coyote cartoons with my grandpa. While Wile E. Coyote’s inventions rarely worked as intended, I was fascinated by the creativity behind his elaborate contraptions and the idea of solving problems by building something new. That curiosity stayed with me as I grew older, and combined with my love for math and science, it eventually became a passion for engineering.
Today, I’m motivated by opportunities to solve meaningful problems through thoughtful design, collaboration, and continuous learning. Whether I’m designing mechanical systems, conducting research, or leading a student engineering team, I enjoy turning ideas into practical solutions that make a real-world impact. Every project is an opportunity to learn, lead, improve, and leave something better than I found it.
Beyond Engineering
Engineering is a big part of who I am, but I also enjoy challenging myself outside the classroom and workplace. Whether it’s backpacking, training for Spartan races, staying active in the gym, or exploring the underwater world through scuba diving, I enjoy experiences that push me physically and mentally. Those experiences remind me that meaningful progress comes from consistency, preparation, and perseverance.
When I’m home, you’ll usually find me cooking. I enjoy making most of my own meals and experimenting with new recipes almost as much as I enjoy designing a new engineering project. And whether I’m driving, working, or relaxing after a long day, there’s a good chance classic rock is playing in the background. I believe staying curious, active, and continually learning outside of engineering helps me bring a broader perspective to every project I take on.
